Young Adult Ministry
Young Adult ministry affirms the essential dignity of young adult men and women – those in their late teens, twenties, and thirties – as “sons and daughters of the light.” Tasks and concerns of young adulthood can be grouped into four key areas:
What can the Church offer to fulfill the spiritual hunger of young adults? The Church can offer them a vision of life based on a faith that calls each of them to holiness, community, and service.
Young adults, whose ages range from 18 (out of high school) through 39, are encouraged to participate in church activities, services, events that highlight St. George's vision to build a relationship between these young people and the parish community at large.
Adult faith formation plans incorporate young adults as part of team.
Projected plans for young adult ministry include:
-Day of Recollection
-Social gathering to promote fellowship and "getting to know you"
-Retreat
-Young adult leadership workshops
-Mingling of young adults with adult faith formation teams to plan parish events
-Island-wide sport event among parishes from different vicariates.
-Young Adult Series on Sacrament
St. George welcomes any young adult to become a member of the core team or support team.
